As it was in the Old Days

Sam was a vender in the town square. He partied a little but managed to spend enough time working to keep himself fed and to go out and have a good time. He worked in the main square selling pots in the main vendor area in the center of town along with many others. Many people were there. Everyone was trying to make a living. Most wanted more. They wanted to do things, to see things, and to have things and were doing their best to get it all. He wasn’t married, well he used to be, but it just wasn’t worth the trouble. His wife just didn’t want to give him what he wanted.

A week or two ago he heard a man off in the distance talking about a coming rain. It didn’t think much of the rain, but it did draw some more people in, and he sold a few more pots. He did well and was already making plans for the good time to come.

He thought to himself, If I can just make a few more sales, I can really live it up and have a good time. The trouble is it had clouded up and looked like rain. Some people were up and about. He was partly packed up as the rain came down harder and water was starting to collect in the streets. What was that guy’s name? He sure was right about the rain. Now that water was flowing down the street so hard it was like a river. Some of his pots were washing away like leaves. He picked up his money for the day and held it in his arms. Finally, the water was so deep he had to tread water. He was growing tired, lost grip of his money, and was panicking. If only I had listened. I would have had what I need now. What I wanted is not important. He finally remembered the guy’s name. It was Noah. (Gen 6, 7) I should have paid attention. Then he went under for the last time.

Our Pastor has been talking about the book of Revelation for the last several Sundays. We are blessed. (Rev 1:3) Just like Sam above we are being warned about what is going to happen. Are we listening. Are we paying attention or are we just worried about things and a good time. We can live through starvation, death, and destruction. We can be manipulated by the Anti-Christ or >>>>>>

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1 Thes 4:16-17)

Are we too busy pursuing the things of this world to worry about the next.

Think About it.
