Flowery Stuff

I have noted over the years that my wife, Sally, is the queen of flowery. When she prays, she fluffs everything up and makes her words shine. When I pray, I am blunt and to the point. The feeling is there, but no fluff. I think I am incapable of fluff without considerable effort. I must plan it out ahead of time. In any case, here is my attempt at tossing out a little fluff.
God we are Grateful for the Resurrection
Lord, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and His victory over death. As we celebrate His resurrection this season, fill our hearts with joy, hope, and a renewed sense of purpose. May we live as witnesses to Your love, sharing the good news with all we meet.
"He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay." (Matthew 28:6)
Renewal and Transformation
Lord, as the world awakens this Easter, let Your spirit awaken our souls. Help us leave behind the darkness and walk in the light of Your grace. Teach us to love as You have loved us, and to serve with humble and grateful hearts.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Family
Dear God, thank You for the blessings of family and for bringing us together this Easter. Help us to remember the true meaning of this season: Your sacrifice and endless love for us. May we grow closer to You and to one another in faith and kindness.
"But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." (Joshua 24:15)
Thanksgiving for the Cross
Jesus, we are humbled by Your sacrifice on the cross. You bore our burdens, our sins, and our shame so that we might know eternal life. We thank You for Your unending love and the promise of redemption. May we carry the cross of faith with courage and share Your light in the world. Amen.
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
As Easter time approaches, I hope to fill my heart with the warmth and love of the father.
What are you going to do about it?
